Mission: EPISODE 1: SHAKEDOWN
Location: Deck 3, VIP/Officer's Mess
Timeline: MD029 2000 hours

ON:

Vincent walked around the Mess Hall to make sure everything was in its place. He arranged this get together in order to introduce himself to his crew and vis versa. He was now their XO, as well as his Chief Intelligence Officer, so he felt it was a good way to share a bit of himself in a surrounding he was comfortable in. Vincent had been to many parties like this, often thrown by his brother, to ingratiate himself to his crew to gain their trust and learn about them. Mainly to exploit any weaknesses they had if he needed to get them to do something. Carlo was notorious for his parties back home and, for those who attended, they were in for a hell of a party. Loud music. Dancing. Loose women and controlled substances. None of which was part of this party, thankfully. Vincent wanted to learn about these people, but not to exploit them. To learn what their interests were and what talents they had. Things to remember when helping them out or decided what action they would be good at in a pinch. He was nothing like Carlo.

As he placed the record player on, to let the music play, he walked over to the bar table to check the glasses and bottles. He picked up a special gray one with an emblem on it. Vincent wasn't about to get them all drunk, but he did want to give them a small taste of the Beta Quadrant. Specifically; Klingon Bloodwine. A bottle he was given to by a friend. He wasn't planning on emptying the whole bottle, but offer small glass or two to those interested. Prepare them for any future encounters with the Klingons and their usual custom for bonding. As he placed the bottle down he smirked again. At least he didn't decided to treat them all to live Gagh

Ryssa was surprised to get an invitation from the new first officer, but it was a great way to meet him, and to get to know others on the ship. Since it was informal, she chose to wear black velvet pants and a green silk blouse. Then she headed for the mess hall.

She heard the music before she got there and smiled as she walked in and took a good look around.

Gianna was the next to walk in, having also only met the Captain at this stage and no one else. It was a last minute decision on what to wear, and she'd ended up going for a dark red fitted dress, some easy to wear shoes and a jacket to match.

Even though she wasn't much one to drink synthehol, alcohol or the like because it had always been a family issue, she still enjoyed fresh drinks. Once she was inside, the atmosphere was quite cool and she stood over to the side and listened to the music while others arrived.

Vincent turned around from the table of drinks and looked to the two who had entered. He recognized one of them from the bridge, during the scuffle with the Orions, so immediately began to try to remember where she was standing in order to figure out who she was. The other, however, he was meeting for the first time. So, it would be a bit more difficult.

"Ladies... Welcome." He said with a smile as he approached them. Vincent wore a dark blue vest suit combination with black shoes and a white buttoned up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbow. "Thank you for coming. I was beginning to think everyone thought it was a joke or something." He gave them a slit chuckle before extending his hand. "Vincent Salvatore. Commander Salvatore, although you may call me Vin when preferable. I was just appointed the First Officer and Chief of Intelligence onboard."

Gianna took his hand and shook it with a smile on her face. "It's nice to meet you, Commander. I'm Gianna De Luca, the new Chief Counsellor on board. I actually only just arrived maybe a day or so ago, so to be invited to a get together is really considerate, thank you."

"Ahh... So you're the new Counselor?!" He replied as he shook her hand in return. He knew they just took on a counselor, so when he saw the name pop up when he was sending the invitations, he didn't bother to look at the file about her. In fact, he did that for nearly everyone who was invited. He felt, if he read up on them, he would naturally feel prepared and learn nothing new. This way, he would only know their position and name, opting to learn the rest naturally. "Nice to meet you and... Welcome aboard." He said with a big smile.

"Thank you again. I'm looking forward to starting my work here, and I'm sure we'll be catching up sooner rather than later." Gia replied with a return smile.

Ryssa shook his hand next. "Nice to meet you. I was impressed by how you handled the Orions. I'm Ryssa. Chief of science."

"Thank you, Ryssa. I would like to take credit for it, but it was actually a member of my team who came up with the idea a not too long ago." He replied as he placed his hands in his pants pockets and continued. "We were in an area and a Klingon Bird of Prey was on long range sensors. To avoid them finding us, my team devised a way to send a false signature that showed our shuttle as a hauler being escorted by two other Bird's of Prey. Luckily, the ship saw no reason to investigate further, so we avoided an incident. I am glad it worked this time and I'm glad I could help. Orion's can be tough, but when outnumbered, will tend to flee to fight or regroup."

"That's good to know. Still, you and your team came at just the right time. I'm glad you'll be sticking around."
