Welcome to the USS Hecate!

Praxis changed everything
With the signing of the Khitomer Accords, the United Federation of Planets and her greatest adversary, the Klingon Empire, found themselves in an uneasy peace.
In the two years since the signing of the Accords the Federation Council has tasked Starfleet Command with revamping the Beta Quadrant Exploration program. The USS Hecate, one of the first Excelsior Refit vessels in the fleet will embark on a five year exploration mission beyond the Klingon and Romulan Empires. Penetrating the furthest reaches of the Beta Quadrant, her name is destined to be drawn in the same breath as Excelsior, Enterprise and other storied ships of Starfleet’s history.
Take a look around. If you like what you see, fill out an application form. Should you not see a position you want on the manifest, please contact us.
On behalf of the staff and crew of the USS Hecate, welcome! Join us and discover the Federation’s Golden Age!

Crew!
The Hecate is slowly coming out of her hibernation.
With work now calming down, I'll slowly be getting to grips with moving the Hecate along this week.
The aim is to get Shakedown finished before the end of the year so we can begin 2025 by getting our exploratory voyage well under way.
Please keep an eye out for tags and updates!

Crew!
It's a little early here, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.
I'd also like to thank you on making 2023 a very successful year for the Hecate.
This sim is an idea I'd been working on for a while before committing it to paper so to speak, and I'm gratified and humbled that you'd all contribute your considerable talents to getting her off the ground.
Here's to 2024 and another successful year for the Hecate!

Crew!
My sincere thanks on a job well-done in September.
You hard work earned the Hecate the Silver Unit of Distinction for the month.
Our XO, Khiane Mau, written by StarGeek, earned the Writer of the Month award.
The Hecate also earned an Award of Merit for September for 23-C.
In the quarterly awards we also earned CO of the Quarter too - an award reflective of the good work of the crew!
Here's to many more in the coming years!

Mission: EPISODE 1: SHAKEDOWN
Posted on Fri May 9th, 2025 @ 3:38am by Lieutenant Marques Hunt & Ensign Shanice Winters
Sitting around the dinner table, finishing up their meal. Marques and Shanice spent the past hour enjoying dinner while she interviewed him. "So next question. You seem excited, but very cautious about this mission?"
'Well, there's a good explanation for that," Marques answered. "Last time, I was in Klingon space, my crew and I were fighting for our lives."
"Makes perfect sense," Shanice replied.
Sipping his drink, he continued. "I'm very much interested in exploring and the possibility of peace. But I am also aware that the word peace probably doesn't exist in the Klingon vocabulary. Desperation on their part…

Mission: Tales of the Twenty-Third Century
Posted on Sun Apr 27th, 2025 @ 11:05pm by Lieutenant Marques Hunt
Marques Hunt stood among a crowd of Starfleet officers and enlisted personnel of various ranks, including civilian personnel. The crew of the USS Grissom had been killed in an unprovoked attack by a Klingon Bird of Prey. Including his cousin John Flessner who had been part of the civilian science team on board. This was followed self-destruct of the USS Enterprise and the hijacking of that same Bird of Prey by the crew of the Enterprise. The Empire was crying victim and talking about war as if their people didn't start this.
After the funeral the USS Houston where he…

Revealing that much of her backstory to someone she'd just met was probably too much all at once, so Gia waved his concerns off with a reassuring tone, "It's honestly fine. It was a long time ago, and it was a crisis averted thanks to my brothers. Nothing to worry about." She hadn't dated anyone since that incident, but that was beside the point. Sipping on her own coffee she added, "I apologise for blurting out that information too, by the way."
"No need to apologize." Vincent replied quickly. "It happened, good or bad, that…

Continuing from Part I

Vincent let out a laughed as she did. The thought of his sister with a potential suiter would send him and Carlo into a bit of a frenzy. He could remember the time they learned about one and took it upon themselves to make sure he knew how much she meant to them. "It must be an older sibling thing. Carlo and I were the same when it came to Valentina. When we heard she was on a date with one, we did everything we could to track them down and watch out for her.…

Mission: EPISODE 1: SHAKEDOWN
Posted on Fri Apr 4th, 2025 @ 8:10pm by Commander Vincent 'Vin' Salvatore & Lieutenant JG Gianna De Luca
ON:
Vincent walked down the corridor, a hard plastic container under his arm, as he made his way to the Chief Counselor's Office. He kept to his pleasant smile as he greeted any officer he walked by. It was an odd feeling being the Executive Officer of the Hecate. He thought he would be stuck on the Mallard for most of the remainder of his career, especially after what he did to get there, but it was a choice that he would make again. As he approached the office door, the thought occurred to him. There was a chance Lieutenant…
