Welcome to the USS Hecate!

Praxis changed everything
With the signing of the Khitomer Accords, the United Federation of Planets and her greatest adversary, the Klingon Empire, found themselves in an uneasy peace.
In the two years since the signing of the Accords the Federation Council has tasked Starfleet Command with revamping the Beta Quadrant Exploration program. The USS Hecate, one of the first Excelsior Refit vessels in the fleet will embark on a five year exploration mission beyond the Klingon and Romulan Empires. Penetrating the furthest reaches of the Beta Quadrant, her name is destined to be drawn in the same breath as Excelsior, Enterprise and other storied ships of Starfleet’s history.
Take a look around. If you like what you see, fill out an application form. Should you not see a position you want on the manifest, please contact us.
On behalf of the staff and crew of the USS Hecate, welcome! Join us and discover the Federation’s Golden Age!

Commanding Officer

Crew!
The Hecate is slowly coming out of her hibernation.
With work now calming down, I'll slowly be getting to grips with moving the Hecate along this week.
The aim is to get Shakedown finished before the end of the year so we can begin 2025 by getting our exploratory voyage well under way.
Please keep an eye out for tags and updates!

Crew!
It's a little early here, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.
I'd also like to thank you on making 2023 a very successful year for the Hecate.
This sim is an idea I'd been working on for a while before committing it to paper so to speak, and I'm gratified and humbled that you'd all contribute your considerable talents to getting her off the ground.
Here's to 2024 and another successful year for the Hecate!

Crew!
My sincere thanks on a job well-done in September.
You hard work earned the Hecate the Silver Unit of Distinction for the month.
Our XO, Khiane Mau, written by StarGeek, earned the Writer of the Month award.
The Hecate also earned an Award of Merit for September for 23-C.
In the quarterly awards we also earned CO of the Quarter too - an award reflective of the good work of the crew!
Here's to many more in the coming years!

And Now the Continuation ...]
Vincent crossed his arms over his chest. “Any idea what house?” They may be minor houses, but it didn't mean he hadn’t across their names at some point. So many house names and blood feuds he came across over the years while on the Mallard, he made it a point to do what he could to keep up. Klingon internal feuds were like 3D chess. One the outside it was hard to keep up, but once you learned the basics and stuck to it, the more you knew how to play and the best…

Pacing the central ring of the Bridge, Burke was stretching his legs. A day out from the Archanis system, the Hecate's communications systems had cleared from the local interference of the system's radiation fields. Routine testing with the Comms department had ensured that a clear line of communication could be had with the Federation's subspace network. The Hecate's last act within Federation space had been to drop the last relay in a long chain stretching back to Earth.
More ping tests had confirmed it worked, and would prove a communications lifeline for the Hecate if things went sideways as…

The USS Houston currently rested undergoing extensive repairs at Deep Space K-9. For the last two month, this Miranda class vessel and its crew had been assigned to assist with the repair work and had been questioned regarding the investigation of the failed attack that had taken place. Out of a crew of three hundred and sixty. Forty-two deaths and one hundred and three injuries. The first month was Starfleet Internal Affairs running a full-blown investigation. Questioning the entire crew on what took place. Afterwards, they all were allowed to return back to work, minus the Captain and Senior staff.…

Mission: Tales of the Twenty-Third Century
Posted on Sat Jun 7th, 2025 @ 6:46pm by Lieutenant Marques Hunt
The USS Houston had been one of 11 Starfleet vessels that crossed into Klingon space on a destination to the Beta Thoridor system. This system was known as one of the major sources of Dilithium for the Klingon Empire. Four months ago, the Task Force had arrived to the Neutral zone as a show of force. But it seemed like that show of force did nothing but provoke Klingons who felt this was a challenge and gave them something to prove. The Federation was still not in an active war. But over the last four months, there was active fighting…

[And now the conclusion...]
"So, we do the best thing we can and are trained to do. We learn everything we can and, in the event it falls into someone else's hands, we come up with a means to combat or neutralize it. Not everyone understands those gambles, but when it comes time to use what we've learned and share it to those in the fleet who need it, we feel better for it. That knowledge will save many lives and all because we had the time to learn as much as we could from it. Time we might…
